ESG at 1 Park Place

1 Park Place is a 6-story, Class A, commercial office building that is all a buzz!

KGIP understands and takes seriously the importance and responsibility of integrating ESG initiatives at 1 Park Place. In addition to other ESG focused initiatives at the property, KGIP had the unique experience in 2023 to partner with Ellis Partners to bring nature to the property by implementing a rooftop urban honeybee program. After the installation and introduction of the hive, tenants and staff were invited to take field trips to the rooftop and observe the hive during monthly maintenance with our own dedicated urban beekeeper and to take part in educational and hands on workshops where participants learned about bees, tasted honey, and even made candles. The Park Place bees thrived in their new home, and after their installation the hive tripled in size. In the fall of 2023, the honey was harvested from the hives and was processed and packaged with the Park Place logo. The personalized and harvested honey from the Park Place bees was delivered to tenants, staff, ownership, and management at the end of the season.

Now, if going to the rooftop to visit the bees isn’t your thing, the Park Place bees are also accessible through the online interactive portal, Alvéole | MyHive (alveole.buzz) where the bees can be followed and their progress tracked. The bees will continue their residency at Park Place in 2024 with continued environmental sustainability impacts and tenant engagement activities and benefits.
